GAZ-SYSTEM: First environmental decision for an investment within the Baltic Pipe project
On 4 February 2019, the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Gorzów Wielkopolski issued a decision on environmental conditions for the project under implementation by GAZ-SYSTEM “Construction of the Goleniów – Lwówek DN1000 gas pipeline”. This is one of the five investments planned within the Baltic Pipe project in Poland.
The pipeline will have a length of 191 km, a nominal diameter of 1000 mm and an operating pressure of: 8.4 MPa It will be built along the existing Szczecin-Lwówek gas pipeline in three provinces: Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie and Wielkopolskie, in the communes of: Goleniów, Maszewo, Stargard Szczeciński, Dolice, Przelewice, Pełczyce, Strzelce Krajeńskie, Zwierzyn, Santok, Deszczno, Skwierzyna, Przytoczna, Pszczew, Międzychód and Lwówek.
The construction of the gas pipeline will be carried out in two stages:
- stage I: section of the Goleniów-Ciecierzyce gas pipeline, approximately 122 km
- stage II: section of the Ciecierzyce-Lwówek gas pipelinee, approximately 69 km
The purpose of this investment is to increase the volume of gas offtake from the Baltic Pipe submarine gas pipeline and the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. Its implementation will constitute an important element of the North – South Gas Corridor in Europe.
