On 15 May 2019, the Governor of the Greater Poland Province and on on 17 May 2019 the Governor of the West Pomerania Province issued a location decisions for the project entitled “Construction of the Goleniów-Lwówek DN1000 Gas Pipeline”.
The construction of the Goleniów-Lwówek gas pipeline is one of the five projects implemented as part of the Baltic Pipe project in Poland. The gas pipeline will be approximately 191 km long, its nominal diameter will be 1000 mm and its operating pressure will be 8.4 MPa.
It will be constructed along the existing Szczecin-Lwówek gas pipeline. The pipeline will be constructed in three provinces: West Pomerania Province, Lubusz Province and Greater Poland Province. It will pass through 15 communes: Goleniów, Maszewo, Stargard, Dolice, Przelewice, Pełczyce, Strzelce Krajeńskie, Zwierzyn, Santok, Deszczno, Skwierzyna, Przytoczna, Pszczew, Międzychód and Lwówek.
The planned gas pipeline will ultimately be constructed in two sections:
- section 1: from Goleniów to Ciecierzyce, with a length of approximately 122 km;
- section 2: from Ciecierzyce to Lwówek, with a length of approximately 69 km.
The project is to enable more gas to be received from the Baltic Pipe offshore gas pipeline and from the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. Its implementation will also be an important element of the North-South Gas Corridor.
