GAZ-SYSTEM: The Gustorzyn Gas Compression Station With Localization Decision
On 19 July 2019, the Head of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province issued a decision on establishing the location for the construction of the Gustorzyn Gas Compression Station, along with the infrastructure necessary for its operations, in the area of Gustorzyn locality, in the Brześć Kujawski Municipality. The Gustorzyn Gas Compression Station construction project, executed by GAZ-SYSTEM, is a part of the Baltic Pipe project and the interconnection between the gas transport systems of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania (GIPL).
The Gustorzyn Gas Compression Station is a key component of the expansion of the domestic gas transport system. Owing to the characteristics of the gas transport system operation and the planned increase of gas supplies from the northern direction, the Gustorzyn Gas Compression Station is an key component for both the Baltic Pipe project and the Poland-Lithuania gas interconnection system.
The facility will be responsible for allowing to distribute gas from, among other things, Norway (The Baltic Pipe) towards the gas compression station and then forwarding this gas stream towards, among other things, Lithuania (GIPL). Thanks to the construction of such facilities as the Gustorzyn Gas Compression Station, GAZ-SYSTEM will be able to control flows in a flexible manner and transport gas to the customers located in the entire Poland as well as in the neighbouring countries.
