Scoping Meeting in Hamburg on 23 May 2018
On 23 May 2018 the so-called scoping meeting for the Baltic Pipe Offshore Pipeline was held in Hamburg. The scoping meeting is conducted as an early step in the preparation of an EIA. Based on a first assessment of the potential impacts on the environment, the meeting’s objective is the consultation of the proposed environmental studies which provide the basis for the EIA. As a result, the study area as well as the scope and the methods of the investigations are determined.
Several authorities, NGO’s and stakeholders participated in the scoping meeting. The competent authorities (National Grid Agency and Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency) currently evaluate the results of the scoping meeting including the received written comments and subsequently will determine the scope of the investigations.
